Today is the first day of school for A.P. On the way to school, Maybelle asked him if he was scared. Nope. Not even a little? Nope. And he was telling the truth, which gave me courage to drop him off at the door, wave goodbye, and keep going. This is in contrast to the 799 other parents who hung around. He was wearing his favorite new shirt, a camouflage t-shirt with “Homer, Alaska” on it from Grandpa Binder. And off he went. Holy cow.
I am waiting for it to ‘hit’. For this reason, I will just do a quick post and keep myself busy until it’s time to pick him up. I read about a program at the Kent District Library that looks interesting. It’s for parents and caregivers of young kids, and there are several locations, topics and times.
